In early 2021, friends and colleagues Dr Stephen Christy and Dr Jason Allen merged their two individual growing practices into Watson Family Dental. They are excited to be able to work with you in a new building, providing you the best care with state-of-the-art technology.
Dr. Stephen Christy
Dr. Stephen Christy is originally from Alton, Illinois where he attended Southern Illinois University Dental School and achieved his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2005. Since graduation, Dr. Christy has taken numerous continuing education courses in the areas of cosmetic dentistry and clear aligner therapy. He also has memberships with local dental study groups and the ADA. Dr. Christy has been a featured conference presenter on various dental topics and procedures both locally and out of state.
Dr. Christy will take the time to listen and do what is in the best interest of all patients, whether it is your very first visit or you are a long-time patient. He has a passion for learning and thinking outside the box to find innovative ways to help his patients.
Dr. Christy enjoys running in Forest Park as well as spending time with his two adopted chihuahuas.
Dr. Allen
Dr Allen is a 2000 graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. Since graduating from dental school, he has received additional training in cosmetic dentistry and clear aligner therapy to straighten teeth. He also is continually taking courses to keep up on the latest in dental procedures, materials and technology. Dr Allen is unique among general dentists in his use of an operating microscope during most restorative procedures. Dr Allen’s calm nature and gentle touch help put patients at ease and feel comfortable while they are in his care.
Apart from spending time with his family, Dr Allen enjoys riding his bicycle, hiking, and spending time outdoors. He plays in a local pinball league, and is always on the lookout for new bars and restaurants to try. You may run into him at a local estate sale looking for treasures.
Dr. Michael Barry
Dr. Michael Barry is a St. Louis native. He grew up in south city where his family still resides. After graduating from SLUH, Dr. Barry completed his undergraduate studies at Saint Louis University which provided him with the opportunity to study abroad in Madrid, Spain. Dr. Barry graduated from dental school at A.T. Still University – Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (MOSDOH). He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Missouri Dental Association.
In his free time, you can find Dr. Barry spending time with his family, working out at the gym, reading, and cheering on St. Louis sports teams. He loves playing sports and is in a slow-pitch softball league. Dr. Barry and his wife Anne enjoy taking their daughter Gianna on walks at Grant’s Trail and for swims at great grandma’s pool. The Barrys are expecting another baby in October 2026!
